Norman, Evert deny rumors of seeing each other when still married

Victoria Mar. 2 (ANI): Golfing champ Greg Norman and his new love Chris Evert have denied rumors that they started seeing each other when still married to their previous spouses.

"There wasn't any physical relationship. I can put my hand on my heart and swear on my mum and dad's and my kids' life," the Herald Sun quoted Norman, as saying.

In an interview with 60 Minutes last night, Norman and Evert rejected the claims made by Norman's ex-wife Laura Andrassy, and Evert suggested Andrassy to "get a job" or start a charity, the Herald Sun reports.

"Maybe she could go to work or find a charity. I think her accusations come from a place of pain, and I'm shocked -- astounded. That wasn't the scenario at all. Everybody gets hurt. We would like to see her move on. If you have so much time on your hands to criticise people, then you do not have enough in life that you love to do," Evert said.

Norman also hit back at Andrassy, who walked away with a divorce settlement of 100 million dollars saying, it was Andrassy who called it quits.

"In December 2005, we were at a ranch and Laura asked for a divorce. She packed her bags. My parents were at the ranch (with them) and Laura said, 'Aren't you going to tell them?', right in front of them, and I was, 'OK, Laura's asked for a divorce and she's leaving'. That was it. I drove her to the airport, and that was it. That's a fact. That's how the situation started unravelling," Norman said.

Norman denied having a relationship with Evert while still married. He said he respected Evert's sporting achievements and they had enjoyed banter, but it did not progress beyond that until they were single.

Now that Norman is with Evert, he is now enjoying living life to the full.

"I'm back to the Greg Norman of his 20s. Some of my friends were controlled . . . I wasn't allowed to be friends with my friends in a lot of ways, so it's just good to be me," he said.
