India export declines 16 pc in Jan
New Delhi, Mar 2: The data released by the government of India show that exports declined by 15.9 pc in Jan due to global slowdown. Indian exports dropped to $12.38 billion in Jan this fiscal. It was $14.71 billion a year ago. Exports contracted by 12.1 per cent to $12.8 billion in Oct 2008, showing a negative trend for the first time in the last five years.
Indian exporters are having tough time as the global markets are hit by recession.
