Pakistan briefing Foreign envoys over political developments, first in its history

Islamabad, Mar.1 (ANI): In a bid to assuage the international community's concerns about developments in Pakistan, the government of Pakistan has said that it had nothing to do with the disqualification of the Sharif brothers'.

Foreign envoys of different countries have been briefed about political developments in the country.

This was the first ever incidence in the history of Pakistan when foreign ambassadors where briefed about the political scenario of the country.

Pakistan's Information and Broadcasting Minister Sherry Rehman and Law Minister Farooq Naek, clarified that the briefing of foreign envoys was organised after some countries sought information about the verdict on the Sharif disqualification case.

Saudi Arabia's envoy, Ali Awadh Elassiri, raised a question as to why both Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif were disqualified by the Supreme Court, as declaring only one of them ineligible, could have created less trouble.

"It was the verdict of the Court and Government had nothing to do with it," Naek, replied.(ANI)
