Muslim Clerics criticizes Congress at its convention in Lucknow
Lucknow, Mar 1 (ANI): The Muslim Clerics on Sunday criticized the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government for targeting Muslims in the name of terrorism.
Jamait-Ul-Ulma, a body of Muslim Clerics, challenged the autonomy of the madarsa by attempting to set up National madarsa Board.
The Muslim Clerics also voiced strong protest against terrorism and communalism.
The Jamait drew the attention of government, saying the victimization of Muslims post-Mumbai terror attacks has been a focus point among various Muslim outfits and the recent rally of Ulema Council expressed grave concern over this trend.
The Jamait was set up in 1919 and enjoyed close relationship with the Congress after independence. (ANI)
