Washington, Feb 27: US secretary of Defence Robert Gates has stated that media coverage of soldiers, who died in the war in Iraq and Afghanistan can be taken by their families. US President, Barack Obama had ordered early this month for the review of such policy of the Defence Department. Earlier, there was a complete ban on the media coverage of dead American soldiers, whose bodies arrive at the Dover Air Force Base.

"The president is supportive of the secretary's decision," White House spokesperson Robert Gibbs said.

When the President urged to review this policy, Gates started with the process the very next morning. Gates also stated that he is a firm believer of getting things done properly.
