Oscar fame Pinki is back home

New Delhi, Feb 27: The 8-year-old Pinki Kumari, who won the hearts at Oscars, arrived at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi on Friday, Feb 27.

She was accompanied with her plastic surgeon Dr Subhodh Kumar Singh. They landed with loads of memories from Oscar ceremony. Pinki was holding a replica of the coveted statuette as media persons clicked photos of her.

"It was a great feeling and I feel like a proud Indian to go to the Oscars and win one, " expressed Dr Subodh Kumar expressed.

Dr Subodh Kumar has given back a normal life for many cleft-lipped children like Pinki through his corrective surgery.

The story of a girl born with a cleft lip has won the Oscar award in the short documentary feature category. Smile Pinki tells the story of eight-year-old Pinki's journey from being a social outcast in her village to her acceptance by society.
