JAC to intensify its third phase of agitation against the recent killings

Imphal, Feb 27 (ANI): The Joint Action Committee (JAC) on Friday announced its third phase of agitation against the recent killing of Kasom Khullen SDO Dr. Kishan Singh and its two subordinate staffs.

JAC's this step came after State Government failed to fulfill the demands to punish the culprits involved in the killing, within the stipulated dateline.

The JAC resolved to intensify its agitation for the third phase in which the JAC members will stage a sit-in protest at the residential gates of all the MLAs, demanding to discuss the issue at the Assembly.

The committee has also planned for a mass public rally at Bishenpur and Thoubal districts on March 2 and 3 respectively.

Most of the speakers representing different civil organizations also condemned the Chief Minister's attitude for not taking up appropriate steps to book the culprits.

On the other hand, the Manipur Civil Services, Manipur Financial Services and Junior Manipur Civil Services officers staged a silent sit-in protest in front of the Old Secretariate Gate, condemning the brutal killing of the three. (ANI)
