Envoys present credentials to President Patil
New Delhi, Feb 27 (ANI): Five envoys presented their credentials to the President of India Pratibha Patil at a ceremony here on Friday.
The envoys who presented their credentials were: Yous Makana, the Ambassador of Cambodia, Piotr Klodkowski, the Ambassador of Poland, Philippe Welti, the Ambassador of Switzerland, Valerica Epure, the Ambassador of Romania and Merike Kokajev, the Ambassador of Estonia.
The President, during her interaction with the Ambassadors, said that India seeks to build bridges of friendship with all countries.
"An effective response to global challenges requires broad based institutions. The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) needs to be made more representative and international financial institutions more robust," she added.
Referring to terrorism, the President highlighted the need for a global partnership to fight against terrorism.
The credential presentation ceremony was also attended by the senior members of the missions, senior officials of the Ministry of External Affairs and Rashtrapati Bhavan. (ANI)
