Indefinite ceasefire by Taliban in Swat

Islamabad, Feb 24: After Islamabad allowed the Taliban to impose Sharia (Islamic Law) in Swat region, the militants group has declared an indefinite ceasefire on Tuesday, Feb 24.

The outlawed Tahreek-i-Taliban Swat (TTS) declared the indefinite ceasefire in Swat, Geo TV reported on Tuesday, Feb 24.

The ceasefire came in the wake of a meeting convened by Maulana Fazlullah at an undisclosed place in Swat region.

TTS spokesman Haji Muslim Khan said that they will be releasing all prisoners. On Tuesday, Feb 24 the group has released four paramilitary soldiers and all security personnel as goodwill gesture.

The meeting has also concluded that it will not attack security forces and government property.
