Anand Sharma congratulates 'Slumdog Millionaire', 'Smile Pinky' team

New Delhi, Feb 23 (ANI): Union Minister of State for External Affairs Anand Sharma today congratulated the 'Slumdog Millionaire' and 'Smile Pinky' team for winning prestigious Oscar Awards.

In his message, Sharma said, " This is the finest hour of Indian cinema in the global scenario."

The Slumdog Millionaire took the best picture Academy Award and seven other Oscars. The movie won Oscar for Best Picture, Best Direction, Best Original Song, Best Original Score, Best Film Editing, Best Sound Mixing, Best Cinematography and Best Adapted Screenplay.

'Smile Pinky' won an Oscar the 'Best Short Documentary' category at the 81st Academy Awards.

'Smile Pinky' is the story of the child with a lip deformity. The film by Megan Mylan, had been nominated along with four other documentaries. (ANI)
