EC to conduct meeting before announcing poll dates
New Delhi, Feb 22 (ANI): The Election Commission (EC) will conduct series of meetings before announcing dates for the Lok Sabha elections.
Chief Election Commissioner N Gopalaswami and other two Election Commissioners Navin Chawla and S Y Quraishi will meet Home Secretary Madhukar Gupta to review the law and order situation across the country.
Besides, the three-member Commission will also hold discussion on the accessibility of Central paramilitary forces to avoid any kind of untoward incident during polls.
The Commission is also scheduled to meet Telecom Secretary Siddartha Behura to expand communication network, an EC official said
The team is already meeting political parties leaders before gearing up for the general elections and simultaneous assembly polls in Orissa, Andhra Pradesh and Sikkim. (ANI)
