Supreme Court grants bail to Utsav Bhasin

New Delhi, Feb 20: Utsav Bhasin (19) has been granted bail by the Supreme Court on Friday, Feb 20. The teenager was arrested in Sep 2008 for mowing down two motorists, Anuj Singh and Marikant Thakur in his BMW car in South Delhi.

A bench of justices, S B Sinha and Mukundakam Sharma said that Bhasin will be released on bail on a personal bond of Rs 50,000.

Earlier, the Delhi High Court had rejected Bhasin's bail plea. Bhasin was booked under Section 304 IPC (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) on the charge that the vehicle dragged the victim for several yards after knocking him down.
