New Delhi, Feb 20: Khurshid M Kasuri, the former Pakistan foreign minister said that India and Pak were at the verge of reaching a solution to the Kashmir issue, but due to 'bad luck' it could not happen. He spoke to Karan Thapar on India Tonight programme on CNBC TV18. Efforts were also made for a joint mechanism that would include representatives from the two nations besides both sides of the divided Kashmir, he said.

Adding that Pakistan preferred a direct Kashmiri participation in the talks, he alleged that India is not serious over Kashmir issue. He was the chief spokesperson during President Pervez Musharraf's regime. Kasuri was in India for the launch of Panchayati Raj Minister Mani Shankar Aiyar's book 'A Time of Transition.'
