Azharuddin to formally join Congress on Feb 19

New Delhi, Feb 19: Mohammad Azharuddin, former Indian skipper is set to join the Congress party officially on Thursday, Feb 19. He will meet Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and then will go to party headquarters and formally announce his foray into the world of politics.

The former skipper already met senior Congress leaders in New Delhi on Wednesday, Feb 18. He is likely to contest from Hyderabad of Andhra Pradesh, his hometown. Azhar's entry to Congress marks the party's plan to take in celebraties from different fields and give Congress a young and happening image. Azharuddin who is known for his 'best catches' in cricket field should now his mettle in the field of politics.
