47 police officers transferred in Gujarat
Gandhinagar, Feb 18 (ANI): In a major reshuffle, the Gujarat Government has transferred 47 police officers, including the Police Commissioner of Surat and Rajkot, ahead of the general election to be held in April or May.
Gita Johri has appointed the Police Commissioner of Rajkot.
She was part of the Special Investigation Team probingthe post-Godhra riots and played a crucial role in arrest of former Senior police officer D.G Vanzara.
During the last assembly elections in 2007, the Election Commission had transferred several senior police officers. (ANI)
