New Delhi, Feb 18: Is this another Nithari Killings? In just one week, six teenagers have gone missing from an East Delhi colony. Atleast 22 children go missing in past four years. There is no similar pattern to the disappearances of the kids, claims police. This is just like in the case of the Nodia murders where cops could no like similar pattern to the missing cases.
On Feb 10, girls and boys in the age group of 14 to 16 went for a picnic never to return. Though police have registered cases of cases of kidnapping on the missing children, there's been no breakthrough in investigations so far.
"We suspect that two couples out of the six might have eloped but we are still investigating the cases," said DCP East District, Anand Mohan.
Even the families of missing children are confused on the issue, if some say their daughter were forced to elope, while others suspect foul play.
"I am sure that Deep Chand only asked my daughters to elope," said father of a missing girl Biju Singh.
"I don't know where my daughters went. I just hope they come back soon," said another parent of missing children, Amir Mohammed.
Police are worried is some organised gang of traffickers are behind these disappearences. According to Delhi Police PRO Rajan Bhagat: "There is no evidence to suggest that".
According to another senior officer, regular studies are conducted by Delhi Police to look for a pattern in the cases of missing children.
