Massive fire guts plywood factory in Akola
Akola, Feb 16 (ANI): A massive fire gutted goods worth millions of rupees in a plywood factory in Akola, Maharashtra on Sunday night.
The fire broke out around 9 p.m. at the Kenud Plywood Mill.
According to eyewitnesses, the fire spread to a neighbouring school and a house damaging both buildings.
Though no loss to human life was reported, goods, furniture and raw material worth million of rupees was destroyed.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Akola, Ram Rao Patond claimed that over 20 fire engines were used to put the massive fire out.
Locals suspect that a short-circuit could be behind the mishap.
The fire was brought under control at around 4:00 a.m. on Monday.
An investigation has been ordered into the incident. (ANI)
