HINDRAF leader Uthayakumar could lose his leg, says his wife
Kuala Lumpur, Feb.16 (ANI): HINDRAF leader and Internal Security Act detainee P. Uthayakumar is in danger of losing his leg, said his wife, who has lodged a police report against the Taiping Hospital in the Kamunting detention center.
According to The Star, S. Indradevi, 38, claimed that Uthayakumar was not given proper medical treatment and could lose his leg due to diabetic gangrene.
"When I visited him yesterday, I was shocked to see his toe swollen and it had turned black. I fear his leg might need to be amputated as it could be diabetic gangrene," she said after lodging the report at the Brickfields police headquarters here yesterday.
Indradevi also said the Kamunting detention centre is contributing to his ailment by giving him food with high sugar content. (ANI)
