SI thrash couple for being together

Haryana, Feb 14: In a gruesome incident, a police sub-inspector of Haryana allegedly beaten up a couple and dragged the girl by her to the police station on Saturday, Feb 14.

Sub Inspector Moola Ram dragged a young woman by her hair along with her boyfriend on to the street and took them to the police station only because both were found together in a friend's room whom they had gone to meet.

The couple, both college students had gone to meet a friend. When his friend went out to bring snacks for his friends, a neighbour locked the two inside and went to police.

Moola Ram who entered the room, brought the duo to the streets and thrashed them and scolded them in bad words in full public view, He took the couple to the station.

An eye-witness said "Mola ram, was already fuming when he arrived. He started beating and abusing the couple. He dragged the girl by her hair, brushing off all pleas for mercy".

Sub-Inspector Ram has been suspended now. "SI Moola Ram has been suspended and a departmental enquiry will be conducted by the DSP. The enquiry is suo-moto and the complaint has been filed by the SHO. Abuse of power and misbehaviour with the woman are the charges. The couple is ok and has been sent home. The inspector has committed a grave mistake
and will have to face the music. This is an isolated case where a police official was involved and for that he will have to face the music," Jind Superintendent of Police B Satheesh Balan said.
