Central Government committed to help poor: Rahul Gandhi
Surat, Feb 14, (ANI): Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi on Saturday visited the diamond workers here and said the Central Government is committed to work for poor.
"The Congress Party believes in the common man and the poor of this country and over the last five years, we have done more than any government to help the common man," Gandhi said.
On the last day of his three-days visit to Gujarat, Gandhi was meeting with diamond workers in Surat, which has been hit by global recession in recent times.
He also blamed the State's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government for ignoring poor diamond cutters.
"The State Government in Gujarat continues to ignore the poor of this country. There are thousands and thousands of diamond cutters who are poor and who are completely ignored by the BJP government. It is the same under a lot of BJP governments. So our focus is the poor people and the common man of this country and we will continue to work for them," he said.(ANI)
