Pak Punjab opposition 'offended' on being associated with Musharraf
Lahore, Feb.13 (ANI): Former Pakistan President General Parvez Musharraf may have been circling the world garnering the support of world leaders, but it seems that the military ruler has no sympathisers in the opposition in the Punjab Assembly, which has strongly criticised the ruling party for associating with the former general.
During the on-going session of the Punjab Assembly, opposition members demanded an apology after being linked with Musharraf, saying they had been insulted.
The house witnessed pandemonium after Prisons Minister Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor remarked on the 'kinship' of the opposition with Musharaf.
At this, opposition leaders left their seats, and demanded an immediate apology.
"Associating Musharraf with us is akin to abuse," The Daily Times quoted, Amir Sultan Cheema, as saying.
After much chaos, sanity prevailed when the chairman asked Ghafoor to apologise
I apologise if my remarks have hurt the opposition members," Ghafoor said. (ANI)
