Ambani, Premji to meet Obama on Feb 13
Washington, Feb 13: India's business tycoons, Mukesh Ambani and Azim Premji will be meeting US President, Barack Obama for the first time at the White House on Friday, Feb 13. The main agenda of the meeting will be Indo-US business ties and the meeting comes in the wake of Obama's stand on outsourcing due to global economic crisis.
Mukesh Ambani, Reliance Industries Chairman and Wipro, Chairman, Azim Premji will be the first two businessmen of India to be meeting Obama for first time.
Ambani and Premji are part of the association of CEO's of the world's most important business enterprises, a delegation led by 'The Business Council' and formed in 1933. It serves as an independent forum for "interchange of ideas and development of positive, practical recommendations for action". Since its formation it has been called upon by American presidents for advice.
The Council limits itself to 150 active members, each of whom is selected on the basis of personal qualities and position as the CEO of leading private sector businesses, according to the group's website.
