Eight killed in Kabul twin bomb blasts

Kabul, Feb.11 (ANI): At least eight persons were killed and several others injured when twin bomb blasts rocked a government building here on Wednesday.

Just after the deadly attack, the Taliban claimed responsibility, and warned of carrying out more such attacks in the Afghan capital.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing two suicide attackers just before the blasts.

"There were two suicide attackers. One opened fire at the main gate guard and police fired back. Then all of a sudden, he detonated. The second one had already made his way to the front entrance and then he detonated," The News quoted an eyewitness, who miraculously escaped the blast, as saying

The blasts were so powerful that it ripped apart the window-panes of the five-storey building, and destroying the entrance completely.

Afghan authorities have claimed to have sanitized another attacker near the Ministry of Education.

"Another suicide attacker in front of the ministry of education was shot and killed. His explosives detonated but it has not caused casualties," a statement issued by the Interior Ministry said. (ANI)
