Cop probing Rizwan case dies mysteriously

New Delhi, Feb. 11 (ANI): Assistant Superintendent of Police Arindam Manna, who was investigating the death of Rizwanur Rehman, was found dead under mysterious circumstances on Wednesday.

His body was found on the railway tracks in Hooghly, Kolkata. Sources claimed that the police officer had gone on leave on February 9.

Police are yet to ascertain the cause of Manna's death.

Manna was the first investigating officer in the Rizwanur Rehman murder case, and he was also the first to discover Riwanur's body.

Rizawanur's body was also found on the railway tracks between Bidhannagar Road and Dum Dum Junction on September 21 2007, almost a month after his marriage to Priyanka, businessman Ashok Todi's daughter.

In January, the Supreme Court ordered the release of Todi and his brother Pradeep on bail in connection with the case.

Both had been jailed for almost month and a half. (ANI)
