Markets end positively amidst choppy trade
Mumbai, Feb 10: The benchmark indices ended marginally higher amid choppy trade, on the back of support from capital goods, realty, banking, pharma, select auto stocks as well as Reliance Communication and Reliance Industries.
However, metal, FMCG stocks as well as NTPC, ONGC, Bharti Airtel, Reliance Infrastructure, Tata Motors and Infosys were under pressure. Railway and Airline stocks were buzzing today while sugar stocks witnessed profit booking.
The 30-share BSE Sensex closed higher at 9,647.47, up 63.58 points or 0.66 per cent. The 50-share NSE Nifty has touched a high of 2957.40 during the day, before ending at 2934.50, up 14.60 points or 0.5 per cent over previous close.

Markets still choppy; ONGC, Airtel under pressure
The benchmark indices gave up some gains due to weak opening of European markets and started trading choppy. Buying continues in capital goods, realty, banking, pharma, select power and auto stocks as well as in Reliance Industries and Reliance Communication. Broader indices are also witnessing buying interest. The volatility is still lingering in the markets.
However, ONGC, NTPC, Bharti Airtel, SAIL, Tata Steel, ITC, Infosys, Wipro, Hindalco, Tata Motors and HUL are under pressure.
The Sensex was trading at 9670, up 86 points and the Nifty at 2,939, up 19 points, at 1.40 hours IST. BSE Midcap and Small cap indices jumped 1 per cent each.

Buying seen in markets amidst volatility
Buying interest is seen in benchmark indices as a result of support from banking, realty, capital goods, pharma, select auto and power stocks. However, some volatility still prevails. The Nifty is inching towards the 2,950 level and the Sensex is moving towards 9,700 level.
SBI, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, DLF, BHEL, HDFC, Reliance Industries, Reliance Communication, L&T, Unitech and Sterlite are the biggest supporters for the indices. However, selling continues in ONGC, Bharti, SAIL, Ambuja Cements, Tata Motors and ITC.
The Sensex was trading at 9,677 up 93 points while the Nifty was at 2,940, up 21 points at 11.48 hours IST. The BSE Midcap and Small cap indices gained more than 1 per cent each.

Markets choppy; TCS, ICICI Bank among gainers
The benchmark indices have seen a rangebound kind of trade, after seeing strong gains in the last two trading sessions. Reliance Capital, M&M, TCS, ICICI Bank, BHEL, Siemens, PNB, Reliance Communication and HDFC Bank are gainers while Tata Motors, ITC, Grasim, BPCL, SAIL, ONGC, Maruti, Tata Steel and Jaiprakash Associates are soft.
At 9.58 am, the Sensex was at 9,572, down 11 points and the Nifty was at 2,909, down 10 points. CNX Midcap 100 gained 14 points at 3,406.
