Bharat Ratna presented to Pandit Bhimsen Joshi

New Delhi, Feb 10 (ANI): Pandit Bhimsen Joshi, who was conferred the award of 'Bharat Ratna', had indicated that owing to his failing health, he was not in a position to come to Delhi to receive the award from President Pratibha Patil.

In reference to wishes of Pandit Bhimsen Joshi and his family members, the decoration of the award of 'Bharat Ratna', which comprises a Sanad (certificate) signed by the President and a medallion was conveyed and presented to him in Pune today at his residence by Additional Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs.

On this occasion, a commemorative brochure containing the citation and photograph of Pandit Bhimsen Joshi has also been released. (ANI)
