Mukherjee warns Pakistan to act against terrorism
New Delhi, Feb 8 (ANI): Addressing a Congress party summit here on Sunday, External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee cautioned the Pakistan Government to punish the terrorists involved in the 26/11 Mumbai attacks.
''Nobody should think that the great country is helpless to deal with the situation. We repeat that all options are still open before us,'' Mukherjee said.
Referring to the promises by the Pakistan Government to bring the perpetrators of the Mumbai attacks to justice, Mukherjee warned the neighboring country not divulge from its commitment on this grave issue.
He clarified that the fight against terrorism was not against any religion.
He also expressed no sympathy for any militant outfit, including the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE).
Expressing concern over the killing of innocent Tamils in northern Sri Lanka, Mukherjee said the Indian Government is open to providing all possible aid to sufferers. He further appealed to the Tamil community in India to differentiate between the LTTE and Tamil civilians in the island nation. (ANI)
