Kochi to host the first ever 'Micro Film Festival'
Kochi (Kerala), Jan.8 (ANI): Kerala's port city Kochi will host the first ever Micro Film Festival' in South India.
Organised by Graphics in association with the District Tourism Promotion Council (DTPC), AM4 and leading visual media institutions, the festival will be held between February 25 and 28.
About 150 m micro films will be screened and a thousand delegates from across the globe are expected to participate in the four-day fest.
Competitions on international, national, regional and open categories will be organised as part of the festival.
The unique aspect of the festival is the special competition category for women directors.
"In view of the remarkable contributions made by women in tinsel world, there will be a special category for women,'' said P. M. Jayakumar, General Convener of the Micro Film Festival committee.
The voting panel comprising technical experts, national level directors and mediapersons will select the best movie.
The best micro movie will get the Crystal Leaf Award and a cash prize of Rs.50,000.
Open forum, technical workshop, digital village and cultural events will be the other highlights of the event to lure tourists. By Juhan Samuel (ANI)
