Uthaya not getting medical treatment in Malaysian prison
Kuala Lumpur, Feb. 7 (ANI): ISA detainee P. Uthayakumar's Wife S. Indradevi has lodged a police report alleging that Uthaya was not been given a proper treatment despite permission by the Session Court allowing him to take diabetes treatment.
Her mother-in-law G. Kalaivani, lawyer N. Surendren and Kapar MP K. Manikavasagam accompanied her to the police station, The Star reported.
Indradevi claimed that the Kuala Lumpur Hospital doctor refused to admit her husband when he had a fever and suffered a bone fracture.
"He was not even given medication for the fractured bone," she said at the Brickfields police headquarters here yesterday.
She alleged that the doctor made an excuse of not having a bed available to not admit Uthayakumar.
On Thursday, Uthayakumar had lodged a report at the Kamunting police station, saying he was not given treatment by the Kamunting prison authorities after hurting his leg.
He also claimed that prison officers had ignored his request for treatment.
On Feb 3, Uthayakumar was taken to the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court for his sedition trial. However, the court postponed the trial to April 28, and set it to be heard for three days. (ANI)
