JMM proposes Hansda's name for CM's post
Ranchi, Feb.6 (ANI): While continuing its efforts to form a government in the state, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has decided to project MLA Shushila Hansda's name for the post of chief minister.
The JMM Central Committee put a stamp on Hansda's name and decided to add her to the list of probable CM's along with Nalin Soren and Salkhan Soren.
"My name has been added to the list as I am the only woman MLA in the JMM and a four-time MLA," Hansda told reporters here.
Hansda's name would be proposed to UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi by JMM supremo Shibu Soren.
The Congress and the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) had earlier Champai Soren for the post.
However, allies of the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) have already made it clear that the final decision regarding the next CM of Jharkhand would be taken unanimously at a UPA meeting and not at the party level.
Jharkhand is currently under President's rule after Chief Minister Shibu Soren lost the Tamar by-elections and subsequently resigned. (ANI)
