Jayalalithaa condemns Chennai car burning incident
Chennai, Feb 6, (ANI): All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) chief and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa on Friday condemned the incident in which the car of the Communist Party of India (CPI) state unit secretary D. Pandian was set ablaze by unidentified persons.
The incident took place early on Friday when the car of the leader was set ablaze by some unidentified persons at his residence.
Pandian was not at home when the incident took place.
The vehicle was partially damaged in the incident. No arrest has been made so far.
Jayalalithaa claimed that the incident reflected a breakdown of law and order in the state under the DMK regime, and said that there was no safety for political leaders and cadres.
Pandian, an advocate by profession, has played an active role in the campaign to garner support for Sri Lankan Tamils. (ANI)
