Vajpayee showing signs of improvement, say AIIMS doctors

New Delhi, Feb 5 (ANI): Doctors attending to former prime minister and senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Atal Behari Vajpayee said he is showing signs of improvement.

AIIMS Medical Superintendent Dr D K Sharma today said: "He is not having fever and his lower respiratory track infection is much better. His condition is stable."

Vajpayee was not a diabetic and was not suffering from hypertension, he said.

"His blood tests besides lever and kidney function tests are normal," Sharma added.

Eighty four-year-old Vajpayee has been undergoing medical treatment at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) after complaining of chest pain on Tuesday.

Vajpayee, who had two knee replacements and whose state of health is always a subject of rumour, began his political career in the political wing of the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS). (ANI)
