Obama joke lands real estate agent in a soup

Adelaide, Feb.5 (ANI): A real estate agent has drawn fire over a newspaper column containing a racially "offensive" joke about Barack Obama, but she says she is unrepentant.

Century 21 agent Jo Lemmer began a piece in South Australia's Blackwood Times on the election of Barack Obama as US president with: "There's a black man in the White House and the good news is this one's not breaking in!"

Lemmer said her first sentence was a joke and she was not at all prejudiced, AdelaideNow reports.

"I can't imagine anyone taking offence," she said.

"Are you black? Well, when you turn black, you ring up and tell me you're offended." (ANI)
