Natalie Cole may get kidney from her son

Washington, Feb 05 (ANI): Singer Natalie Cole is hoping to receive a new kidney from her 31-year-old son Robert, which would put an end to the dialysis she must undergo three times a week.

"My son [Robert, 31] may be a possible [donor] match. It's very sweet and kind of strange to have people offer something like that," People magazine quoted her, as telling Entertainment Tonight at the Grammy Salute to Jazz.

Cole, 58, is virus negative after being diagnosed with hepatitis C almost a year ago.

She has also struggled with kidney problems while undergoing treatment for the liver disease.

Nominated for three Grammys for her 2008 album 'Still Unforgettable,' the singer tells ET that she's not looking forward to the recovery time following a transplant, "but in the end it'll be worth it." (ANI)
