Inflation slides down to 5.07 per cent
Mumbai, Feb 5: The inflation slid to 5.07 per cent for the week ended, Jan 24, compared to 5.64 per cent in the previous week. Last week, the truckers' strike had increased the food items and fuel prices, pushing the inflation to 5.64 per cent
The annual inflation rate was 4.78 percent during the corresponding week of the previous year.
Rather than the consumer price index, the wholesale price index is watched closely because it covers a higher number of products and is released weekly.
