A S Murthy, new Satyam CEO
Hyderabad, Feb 5: A S Murthy, the Chief Delivery Officer of the Satyam Computers is appointed as the new CEO by the Satyam Board with immediate effect.
Murthy has been with the scandal-hit Satyam since Jan 1994 as the Chief Operating Officer (COO). Deepak Parekh, one of the Board members said, "Murthy is a Satyam veteran of 15 years and brings to play a deep understanding of the organization, proven expertise in leading a business unit, overseeing global delivery, nurturing customer relationships and spearheading the entire gamut of the human resources function. He is well respected for his ability to effectively integrate the team and enable a collective decision making - which will be critical as Satyam moves into its revival phase."
He added that with the interaction which happened earlier, the Satyam board is convinced that the company needs an internal leader to lead it at this critical juncture. The board also announced the appointment of Homi Khusrokhan and Partho Datta as special advisors to the board who will assist in management and finance areas, respectively.
