2-year-old raped in Mumbai

Mumbai, Feb 4: Police report suggest that a two-year-old girl was allegedly rapped and later dumped in a gutter in north-west suburb here. It is learnt that the incident took place on Monday, Feb 2.

Niket Kaushik, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone IX) said that the girl who was sleeping along with her family members near the suburban Vile Parle railway station was taken away by some unknown person. It was late in night the girl's mother noticed that her daughter was missing.

Kaushik added that the girl was later spotted in a gutter near the highway and was rescued by the fire-brigade and hospitalised. Girls parents were later called to hospital. DCP added that on medical examination it was learnt that the girl had been raped.
