UP cops rough up 6-yr old girl

Lucknow, Feb 3: In a shocking incident of brutality, two Uttar Pradesh cops have been caught on a camera ruthlessly beating a six-year old girl.

Police officials had picked up girl on allegations of theft of Rs 250. The residents of the Etawah district handed over the girl to police as she was accused of stealing Rs 250.

The video show a sub-inspector mercilessly beating the girl. The two policemen were seen pulling her hair and ears though the girl was screaming in pain.

The assault caught on tape has forced the authorities to sack the sub-inspector and suspend the inspector. UP Director General of Police Vikram Singh confirmed that the inspector has been suspended and sub inspector dismissed.

An investigation has also been ordered into the incident.
