US pilot Chesley Sullenberger's bravery inspires 'Hudson Hero' game

New York, January 31 (ANI): The bravery of US Airways pilot Chesley Sullenberger has inspired a new online video game, which gives players the chance to try their luck landing a plane on water.

The game titled 'Hero on the Hudson' marks a re-enactment of the crash that took place on January 15 this year, in which all 155 passengers and crew survived.

"Both engines are out. The fate of passengers is in your hands," it warns players, according to the New York Daily News.

All that a player has to do is to use the left and right arrow keys to keep the jet level as it plummets from an altitude of 1,500 feet into the icy Hudson River.

If the player succeeds in keeping the plane perfectly level while it hits the water, the happy passengers run onto the wing, and the message "Congratulations! You are the hero!" is plastered across the screen.

However, if the player fails to do so, the jet crashes and sinks, reports the New York Daily News.

The NFL will honour Sully and Flight 1549's crew before Sunday's Super Bowl game.

They will be praised for their quick thinking after a flock of birds knocked out both engines shortly after takeoff from LaGuardia Airport.
