5 infants killed as incubator catches fire in Ch'garh
Chandigarh, Jan 31: In a heartrending incident, five newborn babies have been killed after a fire broke out in a nursery of a hospital in Patiala in Punjab.
Superintendent of Police Gurmit Singh said that the incident occurred when an incubator caught fire at 3.30 am on Wednesday. All the five just born babies were in the incubator, Singh said.
Two boys and three girls died due to incident while five more babies are believed to be in a critical condition. The incident took place due to a short circuit in the incubator. Identity of the children were not known immediately, Singh added.
