Beating wife, Adnan Sami lands in controversy

Mumbai, Jan 30: Noted Pakistani singer Adnan Sami is in the limelight, this time for a wrong reason of domestic violence. Police said that a non-cognisable offence has been registered against him by his wife for allegedly harassing and abusing his wife at their Lokhandwala residence.

Kiran Sonone, a senior Police Officer said, "Sami's wife approached the police on Thursday, Jan 29 night and complained that her husband had harassed and abused her regularly. A non-cognisable offence was registered against him and she was advised to approach the court." He added that the singer has also been warned not to engage in such kind of activities. Reports suggest that the police claimed the offence is not so serious and let the singer out with a warning. It is learnt that Sami's wife might approach the court to claim justice.

Complaint is registered at the Oshiwara police station in the suburban Andheri.
