Earthquake hits Andaman islands

Port Blair, Jan 29: An earthquake with magnitude of 5.2 hit Andaman Islands early on Thursday, Jan 29 according to the US Geological Survey said. The 5.2-magnitude quake hit at 1:59 am IST at a depth of 35 km (22 miles).

The quake's epicentre was just over 200 km (124 miles) north of the archipelago which lies in the Bay of Bengal.

According to first information, there was no damage or casualties. No Tsunami warning was immediately issued.
