Assamese couple become targets of Taliban
Kabul, Jan 29: In a rather shocking incident, an Assamese couple were smoked to death by Taliban militants at a university guest house in Afghanistan. Abu Nasser, 37-year old and his wife, Farhin Ajmin, 28-year old had moved to Afghanistan in Nov 2008, after Nasser was appointed as a professor of English in the Mazar-e-Sharief University in Afghanistan.
The couple hailing from Barika Chuburi in Tezpur is believed to have been died after breathing in poisonous gas. The exact reason for killing is not known yet, but the Talban's hand in the killing cannot be ruled out.
Back home, in the Assamese town of Tezpur, the relatives of the couple are in complete shock and believe they were a target of the Taliban.
"No one can die like this by inhaling poisonous gas. This has to be a conspiracy of probably a terrorist group," Taj, victim's relative told TIMES NOW news channel after receiving the bodies of the couple.
