Tamil Nadu: 15 pilgrims killed in road mishap

Tirunelveli, Jan 27: At least 15 pilgrims were killed and 5 injured as a van collided with a milk van in the wee hours near Tirunelveli on Tuesday, Jan 27. There were 19 people in the van. The milk van hit the van at Sankar Nagar at 3 am.

13 people died on the spot and two people succumbed to the injuries at Tirunelveli Medical College Hospital. The accident occurred when the pilgrims were returning home after visiting a temple in Kumbakonam. Police suspects that the driver of the van was speeding when the mishap took place.
