Samna editor Sanjay Raut arrested

Mumbai, Jan 27: The Mumbai police on Tuesday, Jan 27 arrested Sanjay Raut, the editor of Shiv Sena mouthpiece Saamna in connection with the rampage at Intercontinental Grand Hotel in Mumbai on Jan 21. Police has slapped charges of rioting, trespassing and assault on Raut.

About 200 BKS aka Bharatiya Kamgar Sena workers went on a rampage at Intercontinental Hotel inprotest against the removal of 21 Maharashtrian employees. BKS alleged that the Hotel administration sacked the employees as they were trying to form a labour union to safeguard their riots.

Reports suggest that the employees were sacked without any notice or compensation.
