Mangalore assault: Sri Ram Sena Vice-Prez held
Mangalore, Jan 27: Mangalore police arrested 8 more people, including some of the top officials of the right wing group of Sri Ram Sena in connection with the assault on women in a pub in Mangalore. So far 25 people are arrested in this case.
Subash Padil, the District Convenor of Sri Ram Sena, District Vice-Convenor Kishore and City Convenor Ganesh are arrested among them. Police said that all accused have been produced before the Judicial Magistrate and they will be in custody till Jan 28.
On Saturday, Jan 24 a group of Sri Ram Sena activists forcefully entered into Amnesia, a pub on Balmatta road in the heart of Mangalore city and thrashed and assaulted girls, accusing them of behaving in obscene manner and polluting Indian culture. Two of the girls are hospitalised. The activists also attacked the men who escorted the girls and the pub attendants who tried to interfere.
