Ram Sena chief justifies Mangalore pub incident

Mumbai, Jan 26: It took 36 hours for Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddiyurappa to react on Mangalore pub incident, where 'two girls were beaten brutally'. Now Shree Ram Sena founder Pramod Muthalik has justified the act of Rama Sene members. Speaking to a media, Muthalik said the issue is not big. Media is making it a hype, he opined.

“It"s a small incident and we were only working against obscenity in public. You are not talking about the issue, which is obscenity and inappropriate behaviour," he said.

Earlier Muthalik was the Karnataka Chief of the Shiv Sena but parted ways with them over the Belgaum border issue. The Ram Sena is a non profit organisation and its motto is 'serve the society and prevent bad behaviour', Muthalik declared.

The Sena is always covered with controversies. In 2007, its cadres attacked the house of M Karunanidhi's daughter Selvi at the height of protests on the Cauvery issue. It is also accused of church attacks.
