Queen's guardsman wins pals' support following 'student attack' episode
London, January 25 (ANI): A Scots Guard sentry on duty at Prince Charles' home has won support of his fellow soldiers after he lost his cool with a cheeky student mimicking his march.
The bearskin-wearing guard was caught on tape when he hit Nick Ibarra, a Columbian student, on the back of his head, aimed a boot at him, and growlingly pushed the 230year-old away with his SA-80 semi automatic rifle.
And now friends of the guardsman have backed his reaction, saying soldiers need to be respected.
"He represents hundreds of years of tradition. He deserves respect," the Sun quoted a pal as saying.
The guard's fiancée further added: "He's first and foremost a soldier." (ANI)
