Karnataka: Koppala bridge collapses; kills 14

Koppala, Jan 22: In a tragic incident, Talawara Ghatta bridge collapsed near Anegondhi in Koppala district of Karnataka. Around 20 workers were working, when the bridge collapsed. Six workers are rescued whereas 14 people are feared dead. The Police authorities are trying hard to clear the debris as soon as possible.

Initial reports suggest that 90 per cent of the construction was over and only 10 per cent of construction was remaining. The reason for the collapse might be poor construction and flaw in the materials used.

The bridge was meant to connect Hampi.
