Pak's 'war and peace' rhetoric stuck in replay mode
Islamabad, Jan.20 (ANI): 'War and Peace' rhetoric was back to the fore after Pakistan's Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi saying that any military offensive initiated by India will be treated with a befitting reply.
Briefing ambassadors and foreign envoys of different countries on the steps taken by Pakistan to probe the Mumbai attacks on lines of the 'dossier' provided by India, Qureshi said: "Pakistan would act in 'self-defence' if there was any action by the Indian side." The Dawn reported.
Qureshi lamented that India has not responded positively to Pakistan's offer of a joint probe into the Mumbai attack.
He also urged the Indian leadership to stop the blame game which started after the Mumbai carnage, and work with Pakistan to bring the perpetrators to book.
"A blame game should be avoided and India should cooperate with Pakistan to help bring the culprits of this heinous crime to justice," Qureshi said.
Qureshi once again assured the foreign envoys that Pakistan is committed to root out the terrorism from its soil.
"Several 'concrete steps' have been taken by the authorities, including detention of suspects, launching a formal inquiry and constituting an FIA team comprising experts of the Special Investigation Group, to clamp down terrorist activities," he said.Ambassadors and high commissioners from Africa, Arab countries, Asia, Europe, North and Latin American countries were present in the briefing.
